WALKING IN A WINTER WONDERLAND
Fabulous forests, a bright blue sky and groomed winter-hiking trails offer you a tranquil, contemplative alternative to the ski pistes. In winter, the Altfasstal valley, the vast Rodenecker Alp and the Fane Alp are steeped in the most romantic atmosphere. Too beautiful to miss!

TOBOGGANING ON THE FANE ALP
There is nothing like a toboggan ride to turn the clock back! After a lovely walk to the Fane Alp, you can slide your way downhill to Vals on the natural toboggan run. The children will love it…

SKI TOURING TO THE TOP
Do you love the feeling of a punchy climb on skins followed by a liberating descent on untrodden slopes? Then South Tyrol is your perfect destination! The Gitschberg-Jochtal ski area offers plenty of ski-touring challenges and a special experience to match: the Tanz der Vampire (Dance of the Vampires). Every Tuesday from the end of December to the end of March, you can also climb uphill and ski downhill to your heart’s content between 6 and 11 p.m.

PANORAMIC CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING
The Gitschberg Jochtal area has plenty to offer to Nordic skiers too, with trails at all levels of difficulty for your cross-country enjoyment. A perfectly groomed, easy circular trail leads to the end of the Valler valley and back again. Cross-country skiing in our area comes with the added benefit of a fantastic panorama, especially on the trails of the Rodenecker Alp, from where you can enjoy the view of the Dolomites.

A NATURAL ICE RINK
Behind the mill in Vals there’s a 2,000m2 natural ice rink waiting for your pirouettes. Ice skaters, curlers and hockey enthusiasts are all welcome: there’s plenty of space for everyone! You can hire your skates directly on site.

TANZ DER VAMPIRE
More than just snow and slopes: the Tanz der Vampire takes dancing to the next level – at 2,000 metres of altitude! From the end of December to the end of March, the Vals lift facilities are open from 6 to 11 p.m. so that you can enjoy dinner at the Jochtal Vals restaurant and then dance the night away.
