Green pastures and scented woods
WALKING IN THE GITSCHBERG-JOCHTAL HOLIDAY AREA
Prepare for blossoming meadows, quaint Alpine huts and breath-taking views: there’s nothing like spending a summer in the Gitschberg-Jochtal holiday area to discover the mountainscape of South Tyrol.
A BREATH OF FRESH AIR
To call it idyllic is almost an understatement: Fane Alm is an alpine village situated on one of the most pristine Alpine pastures in South Tyrol. A family-friendly walking tour leads there from the village of Vals, and a hearty South Tyrolean Marende snack awaits you on arrival. If you feel like your feet are pushing forward, you can climb your way up to the Brixner gut. The hiking trails to the Rodenecker Alp are also particularly scenic. You can reach both starting points quite comfortably with the shuttle bus (free for Almencard holders).
Discover how the farmers in bygone times used to live in the lonely farms of Pfunders, and find out about the healthy nutrients abundant in milk … If you wish to learn more about this area and its people, take advantage of the local adventure trails and themed paths – from the Pfunders farmstead trail to the milk-themed itinerary to the Fane Alp.
